CRICKET: SUPER50 CUP โ HARPY EAGLES vs JAMAICA SCORPIONS

Action bowled off in the 2025 CWI CG Insurance Super50 Cup on Wednesday, with the Guyana Harpy Eagles facing the Jamaica Scorpions at the Queenโs Park Oval, Trinidad.
After being sent in to bat, Guyana posted 287โ6, but heavy rain ended play early and the match was declared a no-result.
The Harpy Eaglesโ top order delivered strongly:
- Captain Matthew Nandu โ 54 (70)
- Raymond Perez โ 61 (66)
- Kevlon Anderson โ 83 (60), the teamโs top scorer
For Jamaica, Marquino Mindley and Brad Barnes picked up two wickets each.
The Guyana Harpy Eagles return to action on Friday at 9:00 hrs, when they take on the Windward Islands at the Sir Frank Worrell Memorial Ground in Saint Augustine.
CRICKET: WEST INDIES U19 GO 2โ0 UP AGAINST ENGLAND

The West Indies U-19s now hold a 2โ0 series lead after defeating England in the second Youth ODI at the Grenada National Cricket Stadium in St. Georgeโs.
England, batting first, reached 160โ5 before rain interruptions. Captain Farhan Ahmed scored 46 (51), while Caleb Falconer added 42 (52).
West Indies bowler Jakeem Pollard led the attack with 2โ20, supported by Jai Gittens, Shaquan Belle and Jonathan Van Lange, who took one wicket each.
In reply, the Windies U-19s reached 192โ4 via the DLS method, thanks to:
- Earsinho Fontaine โ 39 (65)
- Guyanese all-rounder Jonathan Van Lange โ an unbeaten 57 (34)
Match 3 of the 7-match series bowls off Friday, November 21, at the same venue.
FOOTBALL: GFF DIVISION 1 WOMENโS LEAGUE RESULTS

Womenโs Division 1 football returned to the Guyana Football Federationโs calendar on Wednesday, with two dominant wins at the National Training Centre in Providence.
- Guyana Defence Force FC crushed Mainstay Goldstars 11โ0 in the opening fixture.
- Guyana Police Force FC followed with a commanding 10โ1 victory over Riversโ View United FC.
The league continues this weekend with more fixtures scheduled across the division.
RUGBY: GUYANA SEVENS TEAMS RECEIVE GOVERNMENT SUPPORT AHEAD OF RAN CHAMPIONSHIP

Guyanaโs National Menโs and Womenโs Rugby Sevens squads have received a major boost ahead of their campaign at the Rugby Americas North (RAN) Sevens Championship, scheduled for November 21โ23 at the Larry Gomes Stadium in Arima, Trinidad & Tobago.
The tournament serves as:
- A qualifier for the World Rugby Sevens Pathway, and
- A pathway to the 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games in Santo Domingo
Ahead of departure, Ministers Charles Ramson Jr. and Steven Jacobs handed over new equipment and financial support to the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU).
GRFU President Ryan Dey described it as the strongest government support in years.
Further strengthening preparation, President Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali arranged complimentary elite training access at Fitness 53, operated by former West Indies captain Ramnaresh Sarwan.
This year marks the return of the revived Womenโs Sevens TeamโGuyanaโs first in nearly a decadeโled by captain Sabola Gray, who will face Mexico, Jamaica, and Trinidad & Tobago.
The Menโs team, captained by Lionel Holder, enters a difficult Tier One group alongside Canada, Mexico, and Trinidad & Tobago.
SQUASH: LOGO UNVEILED AS GUYANA PREPARES TO HOST 2025 CASA CHAMPIONSHIPS

Guyana is ramping up preparations to host the 2025 Caribbean Area Squash Association (CASA) Senior Championships, set for November 23โ29 at the National Racquet Centre on Woolford Avenue.
More than 130 elite players from nine Caribbean territories are expected to compete in singles and doubles across male and female divisions. Participating teams will come from:
- Bahamas
- Trinidad & Tobago
- Barbados
- Bermuda
- Cayman Islands
- Guyana
- Jamaica
- OECS unified team representing 10 territories
The tournamentโs newly released logo features two hummingbirdsโJamaicaโs Swallow-tail and Guyanaโs Crimson Topazโsymbolizing heritage, unity, and Caribbean sporting camaraderie.
Originally slated for Jamaica, the event was relocated to Guyana due to Hurricane Melissaโs impacts and Guyanaโs strong organizing capacity, modern facilities, and continued support from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport and the National Sports Commission.
