AG ACCUSES OPPOSITION OF CHASING HEADLINES OVER FARM CLAIMS

HGP Nightly News – Attorney General and Minister of Legal Affairs Anil Nandlall says the controversy surrounding President Irfaan Ali’s farmland has given the Opposition a platform to regain public attention.

Speaking on his weekly programme, Nandlall accused the Opposition of using the issue to generate headlines after struggling to remain relevant.

“The leader of the Opposition did a video in relation to the President’s farm, and that has oxygenized the Opposition,” he said.

According to Nandlall, the issue has sparked a series of public statements and demands from Opposition figures.

He, however, said President Ali has already indicated that he will address the matter after returning from the CARICOM Heads of Government Conference in St. Lucia.

“The President has said that when he returns from St. Lucia, he will deal with this matter comprehensively,” Nandlall said.

He declined to comment further, saying he would allow the President to speak first before offering his own views.
