YOUNG STABBING VICTIM STILL IN ICU AS MANHUNT FOR ALLEGED ATTACKER CONTINUES

HGP Nightly News – The family of 15-year-old Tiana Chapman has provided a heartbreaking update: she remains in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit of the New Amsterdam Hospital, still fighting for her life days after a brutal attack that left her with more than two dozen stab wounds.

“She is still critical. She is still in ICU. She is fighting for her life in the ICU right now,” a close relative told Nightly News. “She has about 24-25 wounds. Some of them are very deep. One of the most serious is to her back.”

The young mother was allegedly attacked on Tuesday evening in Edinburgh Village, East Bank Berbice, by the father of her child, Christopher Ali. Family members say Ali had recently returned to the area after months away and was upset over the end of their relationship. He remains on the run, evading a police pursuit in New Amsterdam shortly after the attack.

Medical staff continue to monitor Chapman around the clock, but relatives say they are being given little information beyond the daily updates on her critical status. The waiting, they say, is agonizing.

“We are just praying. That is all we can do now. Pray that she pulls through,” the relative said.

The family has reiterated their plea for justice and for anyone with information on Ali’s whereabouts to come forward. Police have confirmed that investigations are ongoing and that the search for the suspect continues.

For now, a 15-year-old girl lies in a hospital bed, her young body bearing the scars of violence, her family keeping vigil, and her alleged attacker still free.
