Businessman and leader of the We Invest in Nationhood (WIN) Party, Azruddin “Azrain” Muhammad, is alleging widespread voting irregularities in Monday’s General and Regional Elections.

The 90-day-old movement, which claims it has disrupted Guyana’s political establishment, says it has received credible reports of irregularities ranging from missing Statements of Poll, ballot box tampering, and victimization of voters across the country.
Muhammad further alleged that non-residents—including Bangladeshis, Indians, and Venezuelans—were allowed to vote, while accusing the ruling PPP/C Government of using state resources for campaigning and engaging in vote-buying with land, building materials, and cash payments ranging from $500,000 to $800,000.
The WIN leader also pointed to alleged harassment and threats in some Indigenous communities.
While a recount for Sub-District Four began Thursday morning, Muhammad said the Guyana Elections Commission refused WIN’s request for a recount in Region Eight.
“Let us be blunt: these elections were neither free nor fair,” Muhammad declared, insisting it was “politically impossible” for the PPP/C to secure victory in Region Four.
Voter turnout in the 2025 elections was lower by about 37,000 votes compared to the 2020 contest. As of this report, GECOM has not yet made an official declaration.
