The Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana (THAG) is gearing up to host Tapas, Rum & Wine 2025 — a premier culinary and beverage showcase set for Sunday, October 19, at the Georgetown Marriott Hotel.

Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce Susan Rodrigues praised the event as a model of public–private collaboration, noting that the government is committed to supporting such initiatives that promote Guyana’s tourism brand — “Guyana, Is We Own.”

“With events such as these, which provide a platform for stakeholders to exhibit the best we have using local ingredients and elevating the culinary experience, the government is more than willing to come on board,” Minister Rodrigues said.

Now in its second year, Tapas, Rum & Wine has quickly become one of THAG’s signature events, featuring top local chefs, restaurants, caterers, and beverage experts. Patrons can look forward to premium rum and wine pairings, innovative tapas creations, and signature cocktails — all for $12,000, inclusive of six tapas chits.

THAG President Mitra Ramkumar emphasized that collaboration is key to growing Guyana’s emerging culinary tourism market.

“THAG is made up of direct competitors, but we believe in partnership and collaboration — that’s how we’ll grow this market and benefit everyone,” Ramkumar stated.

The event aims to inspire creativity and excellence in the local hospitality industry, giving patrons a taste of the artistry and innovation defining Guyana’s modern culinary scene.
