ADRIANNA YOUNGE REMEMBERED ONE YEAR LATER AS FAMILY DEMANDS CASE NOT BE FORGOTTEN

HGP Nightly News – One year after the death of 11-year-old Adrianna Younge stunned the nation, family members, friends and supporters are gathering today for a memorial walk and service meant not only to honour her life, but to keep public attention fixed on the unanswered questions surrounding her death.

The observance comes a year after Adrianna’s body was discovered at the Double Day Hotel in Tuschen, nearly 20 hours after she had been reported missing on April 23, 2025. Today’s commemorative walk is expected to begin at Parika and continue to the hotel, the place where she was last seen and where her body was later found. A memorial service is expected to follow.

For the family, the anniversary is about both grief and purpose. Her mother, Amecia Simon Younge, has said they are choosing to remember Adrianna through “positive action,” even as the pain of her loss remains very much alive. The event is therefore being seen as both a tribute to the child’s life and a reminder that the circumstances surrounding her death remain deeply troubling for many.

The case continues to attract strong public interest, particularly because of lingering concerns about the timeline of events and the handling of the initial investigation. Earlier this month, an inquest was ordered into Adrianna’s death, a development that has once again brought the matter into sharp focus and renewed calls for clarity and accountability.

Ahead of the memorial activities, the Double Day Hotel requested police presence and security coverage for the day, citing the expected turnout and the need to maintain order and safety along the Tuschen Public Road. That request reflects the emotional weight the case still carries, even one year later.

For those gathering today, the memorial is about more than remembrance. It is also about ensuring that Adrianna Younge is not forgotten, and that the unresolved questions surrounding her death do not fade from public view.
