HGP Nightly News – One construction worker has reportedly died and two others were injured after a scaffold at a building site in Plantation Houston came into contact with high-voltage Guyana Power and Light (GPL) wires.
Preliminary information indicates that the workers were on the scaffold when it reportedly rolled backwards and made contact with the electrical lines.
The contact is believed to have sent an electrical current through the scaffold, resulting in three workers receiving electric shocks.
One of the workers is reportedly believed to have been electrocuted.
Emergency Medical Technicians and ranks of the Guyana Police Force were at the scene as investigations into the incident continue.
The identities and conditions of the injured workers were not immediately available.
