Georgetown, Guyana – Queens College Old Students’ Association (QCOSA) will host a series of events from October 17 to 19, 2025, to commemorate 50 years of girls at Queens College. The announcement was made Tuesday during a media launch at the Guyana Marriott Hotel by Pauline Chase, immediate past president of QCOSA.
Among the featured events is the “Her Story” exhibition, themed “Queens College 1975 to 2025”, which will open at the school on October 17 and run for at least a week. The event will showcase the journey, achievements, and milestones of female students who have attended the historic institution.
To accommodate alumni living overseas, “Her Story” will also be conducted virtually via Zoom on Saturday, October 18, from 1 to 3 p.m.
Chase also revealed details about the Royalty Party, which will be hosted at Austin House in Kingston, the former residence of the school’s founder, Lord Bishop William Percy Austin. She emphasized the symbolic significance of the venue, noting that it reflects the institution’s roots and legacy.
Additionally, a special edition magazine will be launched, documenting the achievements and contributions of notable female QC alumni. The publication will feature historical highlights, including the first female head prefect, Alyssa Trotz, the first female Guyana Scholar, and the first Champion Girl.
The official 50th anniversary logo was unveiled by QCOSA Vice President Christopher Bellelffield, marking the beginning of what is expected to be a proud and reflective celebration for the QC community.
