The deceased has been identified as Maud Agatha Forde of Lot 136 Smythfield, New Amsterdam, Berbice. Her body was found around 17:05h on Thursday.

According to a police statement, it was reported to the cops that Forde was last seen “alive and well” on Friday, last, (June 4, 2021.)

“…but on the date and time (yesterday), a neighbour called the police complaining of a foul smell emanating from the deceased’s residence. The body was found lying on the floor face downward. The body was checked for marks of violence but due to the advanced stage of decomposition none was seen.”

Forde was taken to New Amsterdam Public Hospital where she was pronounced dead by a doctor on duty and her body is presently at the Bailey’s Funeral Home awaiting a Post Mortem Examination (PME).
