Brusches Classic Basketball — Royals & Jets Advance to Semi-Finals

Action continued in the 2025 Brusches Classic Basketball Championships at the Retrieve Hardcourt in Linden on Sunday.
The Victory Valley Royals dominated the Retrieve Raiders 84–42, led by Clauvel Thomas (28 points) and Vibert Benjamin (20 points). Neil Marks Jr. scored 23 for the Raiders in a losing effort.

In the second match, Amelia’s Ward Jets defeated Block 22 Flames 53–47, with Stephen George (12 points) and Donnell Benjamin (10 points) leading the way.

Both the Royals and the Jets have secured semi-final spots, with the semis set for Saturday, November 1, and the final on Sunday, November 2, in Linden. Tonight’s matchups feature Ravens vs. Kwakwani and Pits Eagles vs. Pacesetters.


Women’s Division 1 League Action Continues

Football action resumed in the Guyana Football Federation’s 2025 Division 1 Women’s League at the National Training Centre in Providence.
The evening’s fixtures featured Monedderlust vs. Den Amstel FC in the opening match, followed by Fruta Conquerors vs. Santos, which was underway at press time.


Camptown FC Tops GFA Senior Men’s League

The first five rounds of the Georgetown Football Association’s Senior Men’s League 2025 have concluded, with Camptown FC leading the table on 13 points—just one point ahead of Beacon FC and Genesis FC.

Pele FC sits in fourth with 11 points, followed closely by Riddim Squad and Motherland FC.
Other teams on the table include Blackpearl, Vengy, North Stars, Northern Rangers, Ordis, and Eastveldt FC as the next round of fixtures approaches.


ExxonMobil/New Era Futsal Championship Launched

The 4th Edition of the ExxonMobil/New Era Futsal Championship was officially launched on Tuesday in Linden.
The event will feature 13 teams across four pools, with matches scheduled for November 7–29 at the Retrieve Tarmac.

The tournament champion will receive $1.5 million and a trophy, with $750,000, $350,000, and $200,000 for the 2nd–4th place finishers.
Individual prizes include a motorcycle for the MVP and a $300,000 academic grant for one player or fan.
Each team will also earn a $40,000 appearance fee upon completing the group stage.


West Indies Seal T20 Series Win Against Bangladesh

The West Indies clinched the T20 series against Bangladesh with a 14-run victory in the second match earlier today.
Batting first, the Windies posted 149–9 (20 overs), led by Captain Shai Hope (55 off 36) and Alick Athanaze (52 off 33).

Bangladesh replied with 135–8, as Romario Shepherd (Player of the Match) and Akeal Hosein each claimed three wickets.
Jason Holder contributed 2–20, while Tanzid Hasan top-scored for Bangladesh with 61 runs.

The final match of the series bowls off at 8:00 a.m. on Friday.
