CANOC AGM & Workshop 2025
Over 100 delegates from 28 Caribbean nations and the international sporting community are gathered in Georgetown, Guyana, for the 23rd CANOC General Assembly and 13th Annual Workshop at the Pegasus Suites and Corporate Centre.
The event, themed “Charting the Future of Authentic Caribbean Sport,” focuses on collaboration, good governance, and sustainable development in regional athletics.
The sessions follow an Olympic Solidarity Financial Management Workshop hosted with Panam Sports, reinforcing commitments to transparency and strong financial governance across the Caribbean sports movement.
Courts Optical Pee Wee U11 Championship
Eight schools have advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2025 Courts Optical U11 Football Tournament after the Round of 16 matches.
Victories included:
- St. Pius 2–1 Potaro
- St. John the Baptist 2–1 Stella Maris
- St. Gabriel’s 3–1 (penalties) Charity
- Agatash 3–2 (penalties) North Georgetown
- West Ruimveldt 5–0 St. Theresa’s
- Tucville 1–0 GIA
- Leonora 6–0 Marian Academy
- Redeemer 1–0 Santa Rosa
GFF U15 Girls National Secondary School Championship
In the Blue Water Shipping U15 Girls Tournament, matches continued in Linden and Providence, with Bartica Secondary remaining unbeaten after a 6–0 and a 3–0 win.
Waramuri Secondary also impressed, securing two wins.
The final eight teams advancing are:
Waramuri (R1), President’s College (R4), Bush Lot (R5), Bartica (R7), Anai (R9), Christiansburg Wismar (R10), and Marian Academy (Georgetown).
Republic Bank U18 Schools Football League
The 2025 Republic Bank U18 League kicked off with four exciting fixtures at the Ministry of Education Ground.
Results:
- Chase Academy 2–1 Abram Zuil
- Three Miles 2–1 West Ruimveldt
- South Ruimveldt 2–1 President’s College
- Charlestown 2–0 Dolphin
Defending champions Chase Academy began their title defense with a strong win.
Cricket: West Indies Level ODI Series vs Bangladesh
The West Indies leveled the ODI series 1–1 after a thrilling Super Over victory against Bangladesh in Dhaka.
Bangladesh posted 213–7 (50 overs); Gudakesh Motie took 3–65.
In reply, the Windies tied the score at 213–9, with Captain Shai Hope unbeaten on 52.
In the Super Over, West Indies scored 10–1 and restricted Bangladesh to 9, sealing a one-run win ahead of the decisive third ODI on Thursday.
