Representing the powerhouse Louisiana State University (LSU) Tigers, Hinckson lined up at Auburn University’s Hutsell-Rosen Track on Saturday. BASKETBALL: Brickdam Secondary Crushes Christ Church in 35-Point Rout
Action in the 2026 Regional Youth Basketball Tournament intensified on Friday afternoon as Brickdam Secondary went head-to-head with Christ Church Secondary under the rafters of the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall in Georgetown.
What was expected to be a close battle turned into a clinical defensive showcase by Brickdam. Despite a fighting effort from Christ Church’s Daniel Worrell, who logged 6 points and 5 rebounds, Christ Church simply could not crack Brickdam’s full-court press. Brickdam locked down a commanding 45-10 victory, spearheaded by a near double-double from Dontavion Denny (10 points, 8 rebounds) and an equally aggressive offensive push from Antwone Salmon, who chipped in 10 points.
CRICKET: Kemo Paul’s All-Round Heroics Keep Harpy Eagles Alive in Gritty CWI Final
The high-stakes battle for regional red-ball supremacy raged through Day 2 of the Cricket West Indies (CWI) Regional 4-Day Championship Final between the Guyana Harpy Eagles and the Trinidad & Tobago Red Force at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
The First Innings Skirmish
Resuming the morning session precariously placed at 240-9, the Trinidadian tail managed to wag slightly before being bowled out for 260 in 73.5 overs. Guyanese international all-rounder Kemo Paul was the absolute pick of the Harpy Eagles’ bowling attack, finishing with lethal figures of 3-28 to restrict the damage.
The Batting Collapse and Tail-End Fightback
In response, the Harpy Eagles’ top order collapsed under intense pressure from the Red Force seam attack. Guyana was eventually bundled out for 245 in 69.4 overs, surrendering a narrow 15-run first-innings deficit.
The innings was salvaged from total disaster by none other than Kemo Paul, who returned with the bat to top-score with a gritty 51, well-supported by rising multi-sport prodigy Jonathan Van Lange, who fell just short of a milestone on 46. The Red Force are yet to commence their second innings, holding a razor-thin 15-run lead as both teams head into a pivotal, championship-defining penultimate day.
