JAMAICA ELIMINATES GUYANA FROM FIBA 3×3 AMERICUP
Jamaica defeated Guyana 19–14 in the final preliminary-round clash of the FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup in León, Mexico, ending Guyana’s run at the premier 3×3 tournament in the Americas.
Both Guyana (17–15) and Jamaica (21–7) secured wins against St. Lucia, setting up a must-win showdown between the two Caribbean rivals. However, Jamaica capitalized on Guyana’s foul trouble to advance to the main draw.
Following the loss, Guyana Basketball Federation Vice-President Rawle Toney posted on social media:
“Personally, considering the circumstances the team went through to get to Mexico, I’m very proud of their performance.”
Guyana was represented by Harold Adams, Nikkoloi Smith, Travis Belgrave, and Travis Burnett.
Guyana has competed in every FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup since the tournament’s inception, except in 2023 in Puerto Rico—making the national team one of the region’s most consistent participants at the highest level of 3×3 basketball.

Guyana captured the men’s team title, but Barbados secured the overall championship after a razor-thin finish at the 2025 ENet Senior Caribbean Squash Championships, held at the National Racquet Centre in Georgetown.
Both nations split the major categories:
