The ERC’s probe follows public concern over statements that may have violated guidelines on ethnic harmony and national unity. Authorities are examining the remarks to determine whether they breached Guyana’s anti-discrimination laws.
Hinds, a political commentator and activist, has not yet responded to the ERC’s inquiry, but the investigation has already sparked heated discussions on freedom of speech and responsible discourse in political debates.
