CCTV FOOTAGE KEY AS DETECTIVES SEEK WEST RUIMVELDT GUNMEN

GEORGETOWN – A late-night robbery attempt in West Ruimveldt ended in tragedy on Sunday, October 19, 2025, when 24-year-old Faynel Brewster was fatally struck by bullets meant for her brother during a violent street confrontation with armed thieves.

Police are now investigating the alleged murder, which occurred around 11:00 PM at the victim’s residence. Initial investigations revealed that Brewster was standing in her yard when her 31-year-old brother, a businessman, returned home on his black XR motorcycle.

He was immediately confronted by two identifiable males, one of whom was brandishing a handgun. The suspects’ clear intent was robbery: they attempted to forcibly seize the businessman’s motorcycle and gold chains. A scuffle quickly ensued, during which the armed suspect discharged several rounds.

Tragically, Faynel Brewster, who was standing nearby, was caught in the crossfire. She was struck by two bullets, one to her upper right arm and another to her left lower chest. She was rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.

The suspects, who failed to steal any property, escaped the scene on a black XR motorcycle, heading north.Investigators from the Crime Scene Unit have since processed the scene and recovered a 9mm spent shell.

Police are currently reviewing available CCTV footage as they intensify efforts to locate the two suspects responsible for the young woman’s death. Investigations into the senseless violence are ongoing.
