Caribbean Airlines (CAL) has announced the immediate suspension of all flights to Venezuela for September, citing operational adjustments amid recent regional developments and security concerns.
The decision comes at a time of heightened tensions between Venezuela and its neighbors, with military buildups and diplomatic warnings prompting governments across the region to remain on high alert.
Here in Guyana, authorities have assured citizens that the government is monitoring the situation closely. Officials emphasize that while air connectivity has been disrupted, measures are in place to safeguard the country’s borders and protect its citizens.
CAL has not indicated whether flights will resume in October, but said the suspension is part of a precautionary response to shifting conditions in the southern Caribbean.
