The prosecution says it is ready to move full steam ahead in the October 26th deadly explosion at the Mobil Gas Station on Regent Street, which claimed the life of six-year-old Soraya Bourne and left several of her relatives critically injured.

Seven people have been charged in connection with the bombing.

When the matter was called on Wednesday, Police Prosecutor Mandel Moore handed over a file of key documents to the court and indicated that additional evidence would be submitted when the case is recalled on December 3.

The four main accused — 33-year-old Venezuelan national Daniel Alexander Ramirez Poedemo, Alexander Bettencourt, Johnny Boodram, and Krystal La Cruz — appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty via Zoom. They are charged with terrorism.

Meanwhile, three others — Ramesh Pramdeo, Wayne Correia, and Jennifer Rodriguez — are charged with aiding and abetting and are expected to return to court on November 24.

But Attorney-at-Law Mikel Puran, representing terrorism accused Johnny Boodram, is pushing back.
He has formally requested that the police hand over all evidence that allegedly links his client to the act.

Puran maintains that Boodram is innocent, insisting that on the day of the explosion, his client was working as a taxi driver, transporting co-accused Krystal La Cruz, as he routinely does. The attorney vowed to fight “tooth and nail” to clear his client’s name.

The horrific explosion, which sent shockwaves across the country, continues to be the subject of an intensive investigation as the prosecution prepares to proceed with its case.
