Security Guard Charged with Murder of Rondell Clark at Foulis, ECD

25-year-old Messiah Mussenden, a security guard from Buxton-Friendship, East Coast Demerara, has been formally charged with the murder of 29-year-old Rondell Clark, who was fatally shot on June 8, 2025, at Foulis, East Coast Demerara.

Mussenden, who was arrested the same day as the shooting, appeared before the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court on Friday morning, where the indictable charge was read to him. He was not required to plead and was remanded to prison. The case was postponed to July 15, 2025, and transferred to the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court for report and filing of statements.

According to police, ballistic analysis of a metal fragment recovered from Clark’s body during an autopsy revealed that it was discharged from an AR-15 rifle that had been in Mussenden’s possession. Investigators also linked a 9mm spent shell casing recovered from the crime scene to a 9mm pistol belonging to Devon Boucher, another security officer employed by Force Security Solutions.

The shooting occurred between 7:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m. on Second Street, Foulis. The circumstances surrounding the incident have raised significant concern, particularly among Clark’s family, who claim to possess video evidence showing a police vehicle pursuing Clark on his motorcycle moments before he was shot.

The family continues to question the involvement of the private security personnel, asking how and why a security guard opened fire on Clark in the presence of police officers.

The Guyana Police Force has yet to release a complete account addressing these concerns.
