Amid mounting debate over the reconvening of Guyana’s 13th Parliament, President Irfaan Ali has moved to reassure citizens that his government remains fully compliant with constitutional timelines.
Speaking on Tuesday during an interview on Main Street, Georgetown, the President dismissed speculation of undue delays, stressing that the parliamentary process is on track.
President Ali noted that while the opposition and some political commentators have raised concerns, the Constitution provides clear guidance, and the government intends to adhere strictly to those provisions.
He emphasized that Parliament will be reconvened within the legally stipulated period, allowing for the resumption of legislative work, debate, and oversight.
The President also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and maintaining public confidence in the democratic process.
