POLICE: NO ORDER GIVEM TO STOP TINT ENFORCEMENT

GEORGETOWN – The Guyana Police Force has dismissed online rumours suggesting that officers have been instructed to stop cracking down on illegal window tint. In a firm statement, the Force said no directive has been issued to halt tint-related enforcement in any division.

According to the GPF, drivers remain legally obligated to comply with all tint regulations under the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act, and police ranks are expected to continue routine enforcement as normal. Regional Commanders were also reminded to ensure that traffic operations remain fully in line with established protocols.

The Force warned that the false social media posts amount to “public mischief” and risk misleading motorists, undermining safety efforts, and eroding confidence in law-enforcement work. Citizens are urged to verify information using official sources rather than sharing unconfirmed claims that may disrupt or compromise legitimate policing activities.

The GPF emphasised that the law is still in effect, and enforcement continues.
