Tiana Lewis-King Turns Herself In, Questioned Over False Autopsy Claim in Adriana Younge Case
GEORGETOWN, GUYANA — Tiana Lewis-King, a nursing assistant attached to the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), turned herself into police on Tuesday morning and was interviewed by ranks of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in connection with a viral voice recording that falsely claimed she was present at the autopsy of 11-year-old Adriana Younge.
Her surrender comes hours after the Guyana Police Force (GPF) issued a wanted bulletin on Monday, alleging that Lewis-King committed the offenses of public mischief and attempting to pervert and obstruct the course of justice. An attorney from the Hughes, Fields & Stoby Law Firm accompanied her.
The GPF noted that the now-circulating voice recording—believed to be Lewis-King’s—asserted that she was present at the April 28 post-mortem examination of Adriana Younge and that she had been sent there on behalf of Minister of Health Dr. Frank Anthony.
However, following a thorough review of the official video footage of the procedure, the police concluded:
- Lewis-King was never present in the room at any point during the autopsy.
- The three foreign forensic pathologists involved in the procedure did not consult any nurse aide or nursing assistant.
- No attendance sheet was signed or collected at the site, directly contradicting the claims in the recording.
The GPF stated unequivocally:
“This recording is clearly intended to create public mischief, pervert, and obstruct the course of justice among other criminal offenses.”
In her initial statement to investigators, Lewis-King reportedly claimed she was unaware she was being recorded, although the audio’s contents continue to raise legal and ethical questions.
Meanwhile, Minister of Health Dr. Frank Anthony has categorically denied any connection to Lewis-King.
“As far as I am aware, I do not know this person. I have never met or spoken to her. If she was present, she was not there upon my instructions or on my behalf,” he stated.
The Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation also released a formal press statement denouncing the voice note. The hospital confirmed that Lewis-King was not present during the autopsy and is not qualified to comment on its findings.
“The claims made are entirely untrue and without merit,” GPHC said.
The case remains under active investigation, and police are expected to determine the next steps after the interviews conclude.
