Education in Guyana has recorded remarkable strides over the past four years, with more students gaining access to quality learning, improved infrastructure, and historic pass rates at the NGSA and CSEC examinations.

Minister of Education Priya Manickchand says Government is determined to accelerate reforms in the next five years through a bold 2025–2030 Education Strategy.

The plan includes:

Expanding access to STEM and ICT education across all regions. Universal nursery enrollment and greater support for vulnerable learners. Major investment in teacher training and professional development. Construction of modern schools and smart classrooms in hinterland and coastal communities. Increasing tertiary and technical education opportunities to prepare students for Guyana’s evolving economy.

Minister Manickchand emphasized that the aim is not just to improve test scores, but to transform the education system into one that is equitable, inclusive, and future-ready.
