JAGS AVIATION HOSTS INAUGURAL YOUTH CONFERENCE

First-Ever Youth Aviation Conference Takes Flight in Guyana

By Antonio Day | HGP Nightly News

The inaugural Youth Conference on Aviation, sponsored and facilitated by Jav Aviation, a member of the BK Group of Companies, officially launched this week with a mission to inspire and mentor Guyana’s next generation of aviation professionals.

The two-day event, running from July 15 to 16, brought together dozens of students for a curated, hands-on agenda at the JAGS Bradley hangar.

Captain Carl Rodney, Operations Manager at JAGS, shared his journey from aircraft engineer to licensed Boeing 737 pilot:

“Any career that you choose in aviation is a dynamic one — it’s always changing. You’re always learning.”

The visionary behind the program is Havlock Hall, a New York-based Guyanese aviation advocate, retired U.S. Air Force tech sergeant, and proud Queen’s College alumnus. Hall partnered with Patric Stevens, another QC graduate and the Guyana-based liaison for Jav Aviation.

Together, they brought the dream of aviation exposure and access to young Guyanese, offering them guided tours, mentorship opportunities, and a rare glimpse inside one of the region’s premier aviation hubs.

This landmark event marks a new path for career development, innovation, and STEM education in Guyana’s expanding aviation sector.
