The Guyana Football Federation (GFF) announced that Andrea Johnson, an executive committee member, has been appointed to FIFA’s Women’s Football Development Committee for the 2025–2029 term — a major milestone for both Johnson and women’s football in Guyana.
In domestic football, the GFF Women’s League Division One saw dominant performances as the Guyana Police Force FC crushed Damel FC 18–0, with Lakesha Pearson netting an astonishing seven goals. The Guyana Defence Force FC also secured a 5–0 win over Fruit of Conquerors, led by doubles from Glendy Lewis and strong support from Cherylyn Kingston and others.
Meanwhile, in the Georgetown Football Association Senior Men’s League, upcoming fixtures include East Velt FC vs. Motherland FC and Pelle FC vs. Ordis FC.
In international cricket, the West Indies are preparing for the second and final Test against India at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi. India lead the series 1–0 after a crushing innings-and-140-run victory in the first Test. West Indies captain Roston Chase has called for stronger batting partnerships to avoid another collapse.
