Berbice Cricket Talks – Ministers Charles Ramson Jr. and Steven Jacobs met with the Berbice Cricket Association, clubs, and former West Indies players Sewnarine Chattergoon and Devendra Bishoo to discuss tournaments, club growth, and youth cricket funding at Albion.

Buxton Bonanza – The West Side Steppaz emerged champions of the inaugural Buxton Carl Hooper Cash Bonanza, defeating Buxton A by nine wickets. Narendra Persaud (66)* and Anand Bharrat (4–13) starred as the team claimed the $500,000 prize.

Inter-County CricketDemerara beat Essequibo by 50 runs, led by Matthew Nandu’s 73 and Jonathan Van Lange’s 4–35, while Berbice crushed the GCB Select XI by seven wickets thanks to Kevin Sinclair’s 75 and Junior Sinclair’s five-wicket haul.

West Indies vs India Test – India posted 518–5; Jaiswal (175) and Gill (129)* led the charge. Fighting tons from John Campbell (115) and Shai Hope (103) helped the Windies avoid an innings defeat.

GDF ChampionshipsDefence Headquarters won the 60th Anniversary Inter-Unit Games with 532 points, ahead of the Coast Guard (358). The Four Engineers Battalion won the march-past title.

Badminton NationalsAngelisa Goddette, Gabrielle Felix, and Mishka Beharry swept their age groups, while Priyanna Ramdhani and Akili Haynes captured senior titles.

Motor RacingShawn Persaud won the unlimited class at the first-ever Berbice Drag Invasion, with Rameez Mohammed’s Tesla crowned fastest car.

Football – In the Courts Pee-Wee Tournament, schools like St. John the Baptist and Marian Academy advanced to the Round of 16.
In the GFF Women’s League, Western Tigers beat Ann’s Grove 3–1, and Rivers View won 5–1.
In GFA Men’s League play, Motherland FC thrashed Eastveldt 4–0, while Pele FC downed Ordis FC 3–1.
