Old Fort Dominates 2025 Bounty Supermarket National Indoor Hockey Championships

Action concluded on Sunday in the 2025 Bounty Supermarket National Indoor Hockey Championships at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, with Old Fort Hockey Club emerging as the dominant force.

Old Fort captured the Men’s First Division title following a tight 3–2 victory over Saints and then secured a second trophy in the Men’s Second Division, again defeating Saints 4–2 in the final.

On the women’s side, GBTI GCC continued their winning tradition, lifting the Women’s Championship after a series of strong performances — including a 6–2 win over the Hikers and a 2–0 triumph over Old Fort Infernos.


Joy Adams to Captain Guyana in FIBA Caribbean Women’s Championship

Spain-based professional Joy Adams has been named captain of Guyana’s Senior Women’s Basketball Team, as they prepare to open their FIBA Women’s Caribbean Championship campaign on Wednesday against The Bahamas at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.

Five countries — Guyana, The Bahamas, The Virgin Islands, Suriname, and Jamaica — will compete in a round-robin format to determine the regional champion.

The tournament runs daily from November 12–16, with the top three teams advancing to the 2026 Centrobasket Women’s Championship.

Guyana’s schedule includes:

  • Nov 12: vs The Bahamas (8:30 PM)
  • Nov 13: vs The Virgin Islands
  • Nov 15: vs Suriname
  • Nov 16: vs Jamaica

Annai Secondary Crowned 2025 GFF Blue Water U15 Girls’ Champions

The 2025 GFF Blue Water Girls’ U15 National Football Championship wrapped up at the National Training Centre in Providence, with Annai Secondary (Region 9) emerging as national champions after defeating Marian Academy in a fiercely contested final.

President’s College claimed third place after edging Waramuri Secondary in a dramatic penalty shootout that stretched to 15 kicks, sealed by Shermela Blake.

Individual Awards:

  • Best Goalkeeper: Makayla Walker (President’s College)
  • Top Scorers: Ashanti Scott (Bushlot Sec.) & Kimora Edwards (President’s College) – 12 goals each
  • League MVP: Aliyah John (Annai Secondary)

Chase Academic Foundation Stays Unbeaten in Republic Bank U18 League

In the 2025 Republic Bank U-18 Schools Football League, four matches were played Sunday at the Ministry of Education Ground.

  • Three Mile Secondary edged Abram Zuil Secondary 2–1, with goals from Rondell Washington and Travis DaSilva.
  • Charlestown Secondary dominated President’s College 3–0, thanks to Dilshawn Alleyne, Adriel Hamilton, and Adion Marks.
  • South Ruimveldt and Dolphin Secondary drew 1–1, with Tyrese Pemberton and Seon Grant on target.
  • Defending Champions Chase Academy continued their strong form, defeating West Ruimveldt Secondary 3–0 — Captain Brian Wharton netting twice and Mark Glasgow adding one.

Rose Hall Town Crowned Champions of “Dooms Day: The Last Dance” Festival

Cricket excitement peaked at the Blairmont Sports Club Ground on Sunday, where the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club, led by national all-rounder Clinton Pestano, lifted the 2025 Dooms Day: The Last Dance Cricket Festival title.

Rose Hall remained unbeaten through all three matches — defeating Young Warriors, Tucber Park, and West Berbice Super Kings in the final.

Runners-up West Berbice Super Kings recorded wins over Cotton Tree and Blairmont Blazers before falling in the championship match.
