The National Gymnasium was selected over the weekend as the venue for the Guyana Volleyball Federation (GVF), in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport and the National Sports Commission, successfully host the National Schools Volleyball Tournament.
- Male Champions: The Cyril Potter College of Education (CPCE) stood tall, emerging as national champions following dominant performances against powerhouse rivals St. Stanislaus College and Queen’s College.
- Female Champions: St. Stanislaus College secured its own piece of history, clinching the national title in clinical fashion by winning every single match in consecutive sets.
Golf: Bholawram Deo Shines at Crown Mining Tournament
The Lusignan Golf Course hosted a premier field on Sunday for the 2026 Crown Mining Golf Tournament, supported by Lubrex and Parsun.
- The Winners: Bholawram Deo took home the Overall Best Net with a stellar score of 65, while Kishan Bacchus secured the Overall Best Gross honors with an 82.

A thrilling night fixture at the Cotton Tree Ground in Berbice on Sunday saw the Cotton Tree Die Hard face off against The Champs.

Disciplinary Blow: CONCACAF Disqualifies Guyana and Anguilla
In a shocking turn of events, CONCACAF has officially disqualified both Guyana and Anguilla from the 2026 Men’s U-20 Qualifiers.
- The Incident: The decision follows a severe on-field altercation during their Group D match in Curaçao on Saturday. The match was halted in the 86th minute after Anguilla received their 5th red card, with Guyana leading 5-0.
- The Fallout: While the 5-0 result stands as a forfeit win for Guyana, both teams have been barred from further participation. All remaining group matches for both sides will be recorded as 3-0 forfeit losses.
