Putin, Maduro to Sign Strategic Partnership in Moscow

Russian President Vladimir Putin is holding high-level talks in Moscow today with Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, as the two leaders move to formalize a strategic partnership agreement.

This development comes as Russia continues to deepen ties with non-Western allies amid growing isolation following its invasion of Ukraine. The Kremlin has already signed similar pacts with China, North Korea, and Iran since 2022.

Venezuela’s relationship with the United States remains tense, marred by diplomatic breakdowns, economic sanctions, and allegations of criminal conspiracies and coup plots. The Moscow meeting signals a new level of cooperation between the two anti-West regimes as they aim to counter U.S. and Western influence in global affairs.

Jamaica to Launch Massive National Surveillance Rollout to Combat Crime

Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness has announced an ambitious expansion of the country’s technology-driven crime fighting strategy, with a “flood of surveillance cameras” expected to be deployed nationwide.

Addressing growing public concern over the Jamaican Eye program and the lack of body-worn cameras during police operations, Holness said the government is preparing to launch a centralized C5 command center. This facility will monitor feeds from cameras across the island in real time.

“You’re going to get the cameras so till you don’t know what to do with them,” Holness declared.

He framed the initiative as part of a national safety infrastructure aimed at making communities more secure, boosting public confidence, and enhancing Jamaica’s crime response capabilities.
