Jamaica – UWI Student Found Dead on Mona Campus
Police in Jamaica are investigating the death of 20-year-old Victoria Brown Hanley, a student at the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus.
Brown Hanley was discovered early Thursday morning in her dorm room with a scarf tightly wrapped around her neck. Campus security and police confirmed her death. Investigators say they are exploring all possible leads as the probe continues.
Trinidad & Tobago – Two Nationals Feared Dead in US Strike off Venezuela
Authorities in Trinidad and Tobago are awaiting confirmation that two citizens — identified as Chad “Charpo” Joseph and Richie Samaru — were among six people killed in a U.S. drone strike off Venezuela’s coast earlier this week.
The U.S. government has not released evidence supporting claims that the vessel was involved in narcotics trafficking. Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar declined to comment, while U.S. President Donald Trump described the operation as a strike against “narco-terrorists.”
International – Trump–Zelensky Talks Amid Russia Summit Rumors
U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to discuss the supply of Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine in a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday.
However, reports of a potential U.S.–Russia summit in Budapest with President Vladimir Putin have raised European concerns over a possible shift in Washington’s stance on the Ukraine conflict.
