Cuba Warns U.S. Against “Violent Overthrow” of Venezuelan Government
Cuba has issued sharp accusations against the United States, alleging that Washington is seeking a violent overthrow of the Nicolás Maduro administration in Venezuela.

In a strongly worded statement, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez condemned what he described as an “exaggerated and aggressive threat” fueled by increased U.S. military presence in the region.

Rodríguez warned that any attempt by Washington to remove Maduro—who has been in power since 2013—would be “hazardous, irresponsible, and in violation of international law and the UN Charter.”

He appealed directly to the American public, urging them to “stop this madness,” and cautioned the U.S. government that such actions could trigger mass casualties and widespread instability across the hemisphere.
Maduro has long maintained that the U.S. is actively attempting to oust him, with the support of Venezuelan opposition figures and sections of the military.

Brazil Supreme Court Orders Bolsonaro to Begin 27-Year Prison Term.

Brazil’s Supreme Court has ordered former far-right President Jair Bolsonaro to begin serving a 27-year prison sentence for his role in an alleged coup attempt against his successor.

The ruling marks the climax of two years of political upheaval, legal battles, and investigations into Bolsonaro’s efforts to challenge Brazil’s democratic institutions.

The court finalized the conviction on Tuesday, pending confirmation by a four-member judicial panel, which has already rejected his appeal.

Justice Alexandre de Moraes ordered Bolsonaro to be held at the Federal Police Superintendency in Brasília, where he has been detained since Saturday for violating the conditions of an unrelated house-arrest order by tampering with his ankle monitor.

Once a fringe politician who surged to the presidency in 2019 with a populist agenda, Bolsonaro is now convicted, barred from public office, and politically isolated—even losing the support of former ally Donald Trump.
