The Guyana Online Academy of Learning (GOAL) has officially launched its 2026 scholarship intake, offering thousands of Guyanese the chance to pursue higher education and skills training through fully funded programmes.

The phased application process began on October 1, 2025, with the first round dedicated to vocational and certificate programmes, as well as the “Get Ready for Opportunities to Work” (GROW) initiative. This stage will run until October 31, 2025.
According to GOAL, more than 100 skills-based programmes are available through partner institutions, with no formal educational requirements for entry. The GROW initiative will also provide three pathways:
- The Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework,
- A Bachelor’s Foundation Programme, and
- A US High School Diploma track.
All three pathways are designed to prepare participants for entry into future bachelor’s degree studies.
Applications for bachelor’s programmes will open from November 1 to December 31, 2025, while postgraduate programmes will accept applications from December 1, 2025 to January 31, 2026.
GOAL officials explained that this phased rollout will make the application process more accessible and ensure that all eligible Guyanese have a fair opportunity to apply.
Since its inception in 2021, GOAL has awarded more than 39,000 scholarships across Guyana, spanning certificate courses to PhD studies. The programme, funded by the Government of Guyana, continues to be a key driver in expanding access to education and strengthening human capacity nationwide.
