FATHER SUSPICIOUS OF SON’S, CREW’S DISAPPEARANCE AT SEA,-BELIEVES HIS SON IS STILL ALIVE

A Guyanese father is growing increasingly suspicious about the disappearance of his son and three other crew members who vanished in Surinamese waters one month ago. A disturbing ransom call has now deepened fears and could trigger a new line of investigation.

Deokumar Sukhdeo told Nightly News that his son, Lall Das, vanished in October while working at sea. He first learned of the incident after repeatedly trying to contact his son, only to be informed by his daughter-in-law that the crew had not returned.

Sukhdeo said what began as a terrifying ordeal has now escalated after he received a phone call demanding ransom for his son’s safe release. The call, he said, has left him convinced that foul play may be involved.

According to the father, several details surrounding the disappearance appear suspicious, leading him to question whether the original search focused in the right direction. Despite this, Surinamese authorities have officially called off search efforts, citing a lack of new leads.

But Sukhdeo firmly believes his son is still alive.

The emotional father said he will not stop seeking answers and is pleading with both Guyanese and Surinamese authorities to intensify investigations into the crew’s disappearance.

Nightly News understands that Guyana’s Minister of Agriculture, Zulfikar Mustapha, is currently engaged with Surinamese officials regarding the case.

The families of all four missing fishermen continue to wait anxiously for answers.
