The police say they have found no evidence to confirm that businessman Paul Daby Jr., also known as Randel, is responsible for the shooting of social media personality Lolita Callender, popularly known as Lola Doll.
A source familiar with the investigation told Nightly News that investigators checked Daby’s alibi and confirmed that he was at home, moving between his residence and that of his child’s mother, at the time Lola was shot.
Daby’s attorney, Siand Dhurjon, confirmed his client was released on $1 million bail.Dhurjon noted that police questioned and interviewed Daby on several occasions in his presence and even accompanied him to his home to retrieve surveillance footage supporting his alibi.
Meanwhile, the first suspect in the case was also released on $500,000 bail, under conditions that he report to police regularly.
The shooting occurred on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at Texas Square, East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, where Lola Doll was shot multiple times while sitting in her parked car.
Surveillance video showed a motorcycle circling the area before stopping nearby. The gunman then dismounted, walked up to Lola’s car, and opened fire before fleeing on the motorcycle.
Hospital officials say Lola Doll’s condition is improving, and she has since been interviewed by investigators about the incident.
