Day three of the Bishops’ High School Alumni Student Conference and Career Fair placed the spotlight on career guidance and personal development, as students engaged with professionals across various fields to prepare for life after high school.

Legal practitioners led a series of interactive sessions designed to demystify the path to success in law and beyond. One speaker stressed the importance of understanding core principles rather than rote learning, comparing knowledge to “putty in your hands” — flexible and adaptable when truly understood.

Attorney-at-law Eden Corbin emphasized discipline, time management, and preparation, noting that “a good lawyer is always prepared.” Fellow attorney Nia Williams encouraged students to stay grounded in their passion and purpose. In contrast, law student Aaron St. Hill emphasized the importance of confidence, humility, and critical thinking in both advocacy and life.

Students also received guidance on maintaining mental wellness and reading persistently to build strong academic and professional foundations.

The day featured several career rooms focusing on themes such as financial literacy, medicine, aviation, biomedical engineering, and making a difference beyond high school.

Conference co-chairs Joan Davis-Voss and Janice Davis-Street commended the presenters and mentors for their dedication, noting that these mentoring sessions enhance students’ awareness of future opportunities.

The four-day conference concluded on Friday, leaving participants inspired and better prepared to chart their paths with confidence and purpose.
