A growing number of Guyanese businesses are being officially certified by the Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS), as the government intensifies its efforts to build a standards-driven economy aimed at boosting product quality, reliability, and global competitiveness.
According to GNBS, the second quarter of 2025 recorded a notable increase in certifications. Between May and June, three companies—Headers Creation and Products, Pure Aqua, and Tree’s Natural Blends—earned the prestigious “Made in Guyana” certification mark. This mark validates local origin and product quality, giving these companies the right to proudly showcase their authenticity on packaging, strengthening consumer trust and market reach.
In the scientific and medical fields, three laboratories—Geo Envirro Support Services, Geo Solutions Guyana Inc., and Allied Health Medical Laboratory—also achieved GNBS certification. These facilities now play a critical role in environmental, construction, and health-related testing, thereby enhancing public confidence in scientific data and results.
Additionally, Lemol Place, a locally owned bed and breakfast, received GNBS certification for meeting hospitality standards, reflecting the government’s push to uplift tourism services through structured and regulated accommodations.
GNBS noted that these certifications are not just symbolic—they represent quality assurance, risk mitigation, and increased market access, giving local businesses a competitive edge at home and abroad. The Bureau commended all certified businesses for their commitment to excellence and encouraged others to view certification as a catalyst for growth and transformation.
With continued government backing and a clear national policy direction, GNBS reaffirmed its commitment to supporting more Guyanese businesses in aligning with both national and international standards.
