“But together, we can fight back. Early detection saves lives.”
That was the resounding message at the launch of the 2025 Pinktober Campaign, spearheaded by the Ministry of Health in collaboration with One Communications, as both entities renewed their mission to raise awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection.
Under the theme “Act Now, Live Strong,” the campaign unites stories of courage and resilience, amplifying the voices of women and families affected by breast cancer through a series of community outreach activities, educational sessions, and media engagements nationwide.
Health officials emphasized that regular screening, early diagnosis, and community support remain the most powerful tools in the fight against the disease. The slogan “Big or Small, Check Them All” reinforces the life-saving importance of self-examinations and timely medical consultations.
Minister of Health Dr. Frank Anthony reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving access to cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment services across Guyana.
“Regular screening is powerful protection. Healthy habits can lower your risk. Hope grows stronger when the community stands together,” Dr. Anthony said.
The partnership with One Communications reflects a shared dedication to public health advocacy and corporate social responsibility. Through creative storytelling and multimedia outreach, the campaign aims to inspire individuals to take action, offer support, and strengthen the collective fight against breast cancer.
As October unfolds, the Ministry of Health continues to call on citizens, communities, and organizations to “Act Now, Live Strong” — because hope is stronger than fear, and together, we can make cancer a thing of the past.
