Minister Manickchand Flags Issues with Single Window System at Caledonia/Good Success NDC

The Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development is moving to strengthen services at local democratic organs across Guyana, with particular focus on improving accountability and efficiency.
On Wednesday, Minister Priya Manickchand visited the Caledonia/Good Success Neighbourhood Democratic Council (NDC), where she highlighted several challenges with the recently introduced Single Window System for building approvals and extensions.
Minister Manickchand stressed that while the system is designed to simplify processes and reduce delays, proper oversight and accountability at the community level remain essential to ensure that residents benefit from faster, transparent services.
She emphasized that the success of the Single Window platform depends on effective local management and strong institutional support, calling on NDC officials to address shortcomings and build greater trust with the communities they serve.
The initiative is part of the government’s broader commitment to modernizing public service delivery and ensuring that citizens experience efficient, accessible, and predictable services within their respective regions.
