The International Business Conference Guyana 2025 (IBC Guyana 2025) has secured strong endorsement from Her Excellency Nicole Theriot, United States Ambassador to Guyana, who has described the October 14–16 event as a transformative platform for regional development and deeper U.S.-Caribbean partnerships.
In her remarks, Ambassador Theriot emphasized the unique opportunities the conference offers, particularly for American businesses seeking to tap into Guyana’s rapidly expanding economy.
“There are considerable opportunities for U.S. companies to seek partnerships and investment prospects in this expanding market. Sectors such as infrastructure, energy, information and communication technology (ICT), education, agriculture, and healthcare present viable avenues for U.S. firms with established expertise to deliver quality solutions and innovation,” she said.
Ambassador Theriot further characterized IBC Guyana 2025 as a premier networking and partnership forum:
“This conference presents an opportunity to connect, collaborate, and facilitate the prospects that the year 2025 holds. It serves as a premier networking venue, encouraging partnerships that will influence the future of regional trade and investment.”
While acknowledging that energy remains the main driver of growth, the Ambassador underscored that the scope of opportunities extends far beyond oil and gas. She pointed to potential in infrastructure, agriculture, ICT, healthcare, education and skills training, and climate resilience technologies, while also noting rising U.S. interest in aviation, logistics, manufacturing, mining, and franchising.
The Ambassador reaffirmed the U.S. Embassy’s commitment to supporting IBC Guyana 2025, describing the event as part of a broader strategy to strengthen economic cooperation with the Caribbean.
“The U.S. Embassy is proud to endorse events like IBC, as they are instrumental in strengthening economic cooperation, promoting responsible investment, and reinforcing our mutual objectives of inclusive and sustainable growth.”
In conclusion, Ambassador Theriot highlighted the long-term value of U.S. partnerships, stressing that American companies are known not just for high standards and innovation, but also for transparency, accountability, and enduring quality.
