Republic Bank One Guyana Volleyball Championship Returns
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Charles Ramson Jr. attended the launch of the 2nd Republic Bank One Guyana B Division Volleyball Championship, set for November 1–2. Matches serve off at 10 a.m. at the National Gymnasium and Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
CARIFTA 2026 Training Camp Officially Opens
Minister within the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport Steven Jacobs opened the CARIFTA Training Camp 2026, organized by the Athletics Association of Guyana. The camp prepares athletes for the CARIFTA Games to be held April 4–6, 2026, in Grenada.
Guyana Shines at Caribbean Archery Championships
Team Guyana secured multiple medals at the 2025 Caribbean Developmental Archery Championships in Trinidad and Tobago.
Gold medalists included Ravish Singh, Brandon Cummings, Nolan Gray, Samiyyah La Cruez, Suzanne Affonso, and several doubles teams.
The strong performance saw Guyana dominate in both junior and senior beginner divisions, with numerous silver and bronze finishes.
Flying Stars Memorial Cycling Classic
The Flying Stars Cycling Club hosted a memorial race honoring past cycling stalwarts including Clifford “Toto” Johnson and Donald Robinson.
In the elite 10-lap feature, Team Trinidad swept the podium led by Jadian Neaves, while local rider Talim Shaw won the 50+ five-lap race.
Robin Persaud, Alex Newton, and Jamaul John also claimed victories across categories.
Slingerz FC Crowned Elite League Champions
The Guyana Football Federation’s Elite League Season 7 concluded Saturday with Slingerz FC completing an undefeated campaign, defeating GDF in the final fixture.
Guyana Police Force FC beat Den Amstel in the opener.
Darron Niles was named League MVP, while Neron Barrow won Top Scorer for the second consecutive year.
West Indies Triumph Over Bangladesh
The West Indies defeated Bangladesh by 16 runs in the opening T20 International.
Captain Shai Hope scored an unbeaten 46 (28), while Rovman Powell marked his 100th T20I with 44 not out.
Jayden Seales and Jason Holder each took three wickets. The second match bowls off Wednesday at 8 a.m.
