The National Small Business Week E-Flat event brought together approximately 50 businesses, entrepreneurs, and students, all contributing insights into critical areas of business development.
Now in its third consecutive year, the event continues to attract a growing number of thriving small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). President of the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI), Kattie Smith, emphasized the importance of collaboration, noting that the initiative provides a platform to partner with organizations that not only support existing businesses but also help them scale and accelerate their growth.
Participants benefited from a series of comprehensive workshops covering topics such as small business management, accessing finance through the Small Business Bureau loan facility, quality management principles, financial management, and recordkeeping.
This year’s exposition showcased a more diverse range of enterprises, including businesses in logistics, dentistry, confectionery, construction, and janitorial services. Smith praised the variety, saying it reflected the broad cross-section of Guyana’s entrepreneurial landscape.
Held under the theme “Funding, Innovation, Building a Sustainable Future for MSMEs”, the event underscored GCCI’s commitment to fostering an enabling environment for SMEs. Organizers highlighted their ongoing mission to ensure small businesses in Guyana have the capacity, access, and partnerships needed to succeed in the evolving national economy.
