Former policeman arrested for collecting money to help get gun licence

A former rank of the Guyana Police Force (GPF), has once again found himself on the other side of the law for obtaining money falsely by pretending that he was in a position to assist an individual in obtaining a firearm licence.

According to a statement from the GPF, Paul Watson, the former cop of Zeelugt, EBE, was arrested on Tuesday (yesterday).

“Watson, who is attached to a private security service, has been previously charged by the police for matters of a similar nature.

Other persons who may have been  defrauded by Paul Watson under the same circumstances are asked to come forward and report the matter to the nearest police station.”

Investigations are in progress.
