In its preliminary assessment, the Carter Centre commended the overall conduct of the polls, noting that citizens were able to cast their ballots without major disruption. However, the organisation called on policymakers to prioritise constitutional reform and introduce stringent campaign financing laws to strengthen accountability and transparency.
Observers stressed that without such reforms, confidence in the system will remain fragile, even if polling day operations appear efficient.
