AZURDDIN MOHAMED URGES JOINT SERVICES TO BACK THE WIN PARTY AHEAD OF ELECTIONS

Azurddin Mohamed Pledges Sweeping Reforms for Service Members

By Marvin Cato, HGP Nightly News

Presidential candidate Azurddin Mohamed on Thursday morning used a live broadcast on his social media page to unveil an ambitious package of benefits targeting service members and their families.

Among the headline pledges were a 40% cut in house lot prices for service personnel, grants of up to $700,000 for home construction, and priority processing of applications with utilities installed before approvals are granted.

Mohamed also promised significant improvements in allowances, vowing to increase travel, uniform, rent, and special service allowances while reducing PAYE from 25% to 20%.

“We want to ease your burdens so that you could better serve this great nation. It is appalling that in 2025 your allowances do not match the cost of living. This is no way to treat our serving men and women,” Mohamed declared.

Other major commitments include:

  • $100,000 cash grants per child for families of service members
  • Free school transportation for children
  • Scaled salary increases of up to 50% plus risk allowances
  • Priority scholarships for service families
  • Full medical coverage for officers injured in the line of duty
  • Increase in death-in-service benefit from $1 million to $5 million
  • Extended maternity leave (four months instead of three)
  • Duty-free concessions on vehicles (up to 2,000cc for station sergeants and 2,500cc for inspectors)
  • Higher overtime pay and retention of the year-end bonus

Mohamed urged service members to think carefully about their future as they prepare to head to the polls on August 22 for the Disciplined Services vote.
