Dexter Todd: APNU’s Setback is ‘A Delay, Not a Denial’
By Antonio Dey | HGP Nightly News.
Former A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) candidate Dexter Todd says the party’s loss of its position as the main parliamentary opposition should not be seen as a defeat, but rather as a temporary delay.
Todd stressed that the elections provided APNU with a valuable opportunity to share its vision for Guyana’s future, one aimed at improving the quality of life for citizens.
“I don’t see this as being a loss. I see this as being a delay. A delay is not a denial,” Todd said.
He emphasized that while low voter turnout affected the party’s results, APNU will continue engaging the public, educating citizens, and explaining its vision for national development.
Todd further noted that the party had the chance to witness the living conditions of many Guyanese, particularly in underprivileged areas, and highlighted the importance of a government rooted in law and order.
Despite disappointment over the results, Todd maintained that the setback would not deter APNU’s members and supporters from continuing their political work and strengthening grassroots engagement.
