At the thirty-first sitting of the National Assembly on Monday, an amendment to the Petroleum Exploration and Production Act was passed which essentially clears the way for the laying of Exxon Mobil’s fibre optic cable and pipelines to facilitate its gas-to-energy project at the Wales Development Authority (WDA), on the West Bank of Demerara.
