Guyana has not yet started monitoring compliance with its Local Content Legislation, which sets the scene for local companies to participate in no less than 40 critical areas in the oil sector, thereby allowing international companies to utilise more local products and services. According to Minister of Natural Resource Vickram Bharrat, mechanisms are still being put in place to ensure compliance by oil companies with the Local Content Act. Temika Rodney reports.
