GEORGETOWN, GUYANA — In a major regional push to nurture the next generation of aviation and travel executives, Caribbean Airlines (CAL) has marked the third anniversary of its Sustainability Programme by launching a high-impact educational tour across the coastal Demerara corridor.
The leading regional carrier teamed up with the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA) to roll out its signature “Career Caravan” education outreach program. The joint initiative specifically targeted Grade Nine and Grade Ten students across four major secondary schools on the East Coast and East Bank of Demerara. The career activation unfolded between May 28 and May 29, 2026, landing just on the heels of Guyana’s historic 60th Independence Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
Navigating Tomorrow’s Skies: The Multi-School Tour
The two-day educational tour was spearheaded by Caribbean Airlines Country Manager for Guyana and Suriname, Renatha Marshall, alongside senior technical officers from both the airline and the GTA.
Through multimedia presentations and interactive career-pathway seminars, hundreds of students were introduced to high-value career paths within the modern aviation and hospitality ecosystems, ranging from commercial piloting and aerospace engineering to sustainable tourism management and international logistics.
“Our young people are an important demographic for Caribbean Airlines,” stated CAL Country Manager Renatha Marshall during an interactive school assembly. “It is therefore essential that we engage and connect with them as the next generation of leaders, and our Career Caravan education outreach program provides a meaningful platform to achieve this objective.”
The Sustainability Footprint: 137,000 Lives Impacted
The Guyana Tourism Authority expressed strong satisfaction with the partnership, noting that connecting state tourism modules with regional transport logistics creates an immediate win-win for local youth development.
