AZRUDDIN MOHAMED SURRENDERS TO POLICE AFTER ALLEGED BRIBE TO ASSAULT VICTIM

GEORGETOWN, GUYANA – Businessman Azruddin Mohamed turned himself in to police on Thursday, hours after law enforcement attempted to arrest him for allegedly trying to obstruct justice. The allegation stems from claims that he offered $500,000 to a young woman who was brutally assaulted by his close associate, Bradley Sampson, better known by the street name “Doggie.”

Mohamed arrived at the police station accompanied by his attorney. His surrender came amid growing public attention following the release of a wanted bulletin for Sampson, who is accused of severely beating the woman in full view of the public and pointing an unlicensed firearm at her during the incident at Cuffy Square, Georgetown.

According to police sources, after the bulletin for Sampson was issued, Mohamed reportedly invited the woman to a meeting where he offered her a cash payment to drop the case. She later returned to the police and reported the offer.

The woman, whose identity is being withheld for her protection, initially filed the complaint that led to the charges against Sampson and the subsequent investigation into Mohamed’s actions.

Police have since expanded their probe to include the alleged attempt to interfere with the investigation. Sampson remains on the run. Despite publicly claiming that he would surrender by midday Wednesday, he has yet to do so.

Police say he is wanted for multiple offences related to the violent assault and gun threat. Law enforcement officials continue to appeal to the public for information that could lead to Sampson’s arrest. Meanwhile, Mohamed’s role in the case is now the subject of ongoing investigations.
