HGP Nightly News – Police investigations into Saturday’s armed robbery at Lodge have led to a significant development; one of the suspects has been identified as the alleged gunman in the December 2025 killing of taxi driver Xavier Fraser.
Authorities confirmed that 22-year-old Hoesela Harris of ‘E’ Field, Sophia, who was arrested following the robbery along Chappel Street, has been positively identified as the individual who fatally shot Fraser. Fraser, 27, was killed on December 21, 2025, at Plum Park, Sophia. A post-mortem examination determined that he died from a gunshot wound to the head. Another 19-year-old man was also injured during the incident.
Harris was arrested days later during a police operation that tracked suspects using the Smart City surveillance system. Officers intercepted a black Toyota Auris along Eping Avenue, Bel Air. During the confrontation, Harris allegedly drew a firearm, prompting police to return fire and injure him in the thigh. He was hospitalised under guard at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation and has since been discharged.
Investigators are now preparing to formally charge Harris with murder in connection to Fraser’s death, in addition to separate charges related to the Lodge armed robbery. While police have not disclosed the full body of evidence linking Harris to the killing, sources indicate that the case file is being finalised for court proceedings.
The matter remains under active investigation as authorities move forward with charges.
