GEORGETOWN, GUYANA — The path to homeownership for thousands of Guyanese is accelerating as the Ministry of Housing and Water prepares to process agreements of sale and land titles across seven new housing schemes. Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal, announced on Wednesday that over 3,000 beneficiaries will be invited to formalize their land ownership within the next two months.
This massive administrative rollout is backed by a staggering $38.5 billion investment in infrastructure to ensure these new communities are fully accessible and shovel-ready for construction.
The Rollout Schedule: Key Dates & Locations
Signings have already been scheduled for hundreds of residents, starting with Phase 2 of the Lusignan development.
- Lusignan Phase 2 (East Coast Demerara): * Dates: March 7th and 14th, 2026.
- Impact: 500 persons are scheduled to sign agreements of sale and initiate certificate-of-title processing.
- Good Hope Phase 2 (East Coast Demerara):
- Approximately 300 persons in the eastern section of the community will soon receive notifications to begin their paperwork.

Infrastructure: A $38.5 Billion Investment
Minister Croal emphasized that the government is not simply “handing out land,” but is investing heavily in the viability of these communities. The $38.5 billion allocated to these seven specific areas covers:
- Access Roads: Paved internal roads and bridges.
- Drainage Systems: Extensive networks to prevent flooding in new schemes.
- Utility Networks: Preparation for water and electrical connectivity.
